Our Design Ethos

We are proud to be a conscious brand.

We don’t claim to know everything about looking after the environment but we do promise to do our best as we continually learn and improve our practices to move towards a healthier planet.

Our collections consist of timeless and versatile pieces designed for outfit repeating and sprinkled with a few key wow products. We are pro outfit repeating and pro knowing the story behind our garments and we are no to fast fashion and throw away purchases.

For women, continually updating our wardrobe with every weight fluctuation is not only costly but also extremely wasteful, not to mention the loss of identity that goes along with it. At Alessandra Reli, we've got you covered, for all women and all lifestyles beyond just motherhood. Our pieces are designed to grow with you through all stages of your life, we want you to feel confident, empowered and invincible, regardless of your phase of life.

Our aim is to bring meaning back to our clothes, to create memories in them with the people we love and to pass them down through the generations. We would love to hear your stories, share them with us on social media using the hashtag #MyAlessandraReliStory

How Do We Work?

Made to order in limited edition drops, what does this mean to us?

Alessandra Reli is committed to a more sustainable and conscious approach to Fashion. Each drop will be available to purchase online for 1 week and only a limited number of units are released for each piece.

We endeavour to be as sustainable as possible, however, we understand that patience can be tough, therefore we pre-order the fabric metres in order to speed up the lead time. We don’t carry any stock and we commit to only ever making a garment that has already been matched with their loving owner before it gets made. Once all items have sold out, they are gone and you will only be able to get one if a customer returns it to us in perfect condition.

Orders will close at the end of the week or when all units have been sold, whichever happens first.

All pieces are made here in the UK, as soon as we have received your order we will begin making it and you can expect to receive it in 3-5 weeks. During this time we take you on the journey of your items being made at each stage and keep you informed via email when your order is ready to be dispatched.

Made to Order:

The old model of mass producing has done its damage and is on its way out, and because of this we commit to only ever making a limited number of garments that have already been matched with their loving owner before they get made. This is our biggest promise and one we are most proud of.

Made to Endure:

Alessandra Reli’s collections are designed with timeless versatility in mind and using only the highest quality materials that are made to last. Creating classic styles rather than following seasonal fashion trends means you’ll be wearing your Alessandra Reli pieces for years to come, before passing down through the generations. All drops will help to build your perfect capsule wardrobe, all you’ll ever need is your #ReliWardrobe teamed with some well fitting jeans, flats and some nice heels.

Sustainability:

Globally the fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries, and at Alessandra Reli we want to leave a better, cleaner world for our children. It is our duty to work collectively in trying to offset the current environmental impact and work towards reversing the damage already done.

Our Factories:

When deciding on our manufacturing partners, it was important for us to have our factory close by, not only to ensure we could keep control of the quality of each garment but by being made in the UK this allows us to reduce our carbon emissions from transportation.

The same goes for our printer who is located in London, UK. Often we collect the fabric directly from the mill instead of arranging delivery to help further reduce our carbon footprint.

Fabrics & Printing:

When it comes to Cotton we are proud to share that we use 100% GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) Cotton, this is the gold standard for sustainable, organic textiles. It is recognised globally and includes strict environmental and social criteria for the entire textile supply chain.

GOTS prohibits the use of the types of chemicals commonly used in textile processing that can cause cancer, birth defects and other serious illnesses. These substances can also destroy eco-systems on an international scale. When it comes to the social criteria, GOTS is based on the International Labour Organisation which includes a ban on child and forced labour.

When choosing the rest of our fabrics, there are a few non-negotiables. One of them is that we won’t even consider using a fabric unless it has at least 65% recycled fibres, however most of the fabrics we end up choosing are at least 85% or more.

Our printer uses one of the most eco-friendly techniques possible which includes using Digital Pigment inks. This requires no water in the printing process, and uses around 95% less energy than traditional screen printing.

Packaging:

We’ve thought of it all, even our mailing bags are 100% Recycled Kraft Paper. Initially, we wanted to get biodegradable mailers, however, after thinking about this for a while we realised that the majority of people still don't have compost bins. We know our customers are climate-conscious shoppers trying to do their bit and would therefore probably put them in their recycle bins by mistake. The problem with this is that compostable and biodegradable plastics are not currently recyclable, which would defeat the purpose altogether. This is why we decided to keep it simple using our 100% recycled paper mailers which can then go straight into your recycle bins.
